Matamata Chronicle - - Conversations - Warren Harvey, Waharoa

The Waharoa Hall is an asset to our community.

It just needs better management.

It is not acceptable that the Memorial Hall has been decommissioned, or has it?

Currently a petition and Facebook page is running to save our hall.

A sign has been erected to promote awareness of the issue.

The original purpose for the land and building is for social activities and for the well-being of our community as stated in the council mandate.

Selling the hall breaches the original Kaupapa (which means the intent for which is was given).

To take away from an area that needs help, is, Matamata’s shame!
