Three oc­cu­pants of a car es­caped se­ri­ous in­jury after their ve­hi­cle rolled near Mata­mata on Tues­day night.

The sin­gle-ve­hi­cle crash hap­pened along State High­way 27, near Ngarua, around 9pm.

Waikato Po­lice Se­nior Sergeant Pete van de We­ter­ing of the Waikato District Com­mand Cen­tre said po­lice, fire and am­bu­lance ser­vices at­tended.

The three oc­cu­pants of the car es­caped se­ri­ous in­jury.

‘‘We have been in at­ten­dance at a mo­tor ve­hi­cle crash in­volv­ing one ve­hi­cle only, which has rolled over.’’

He said the three oc­cu­pants ap­peared not to be se­ri­ously in­jured but one had re­ceived a knock to the head.

‘‘But they were feet,’’ he said.

North­ern Fire Com­mu­ni­ca­tions shift man­ager spokesper­son said fire ser­vices as­sisted po­lice, and all peo­ple were out of the ve­hi­cle.
