Roll-up ute cover on view at Fieldays
A new, easy-to-use tonneau cover for utes that doesn’t require holes drilled into the bodywork will be taking pride of place on vehicles dressed by Best Bars at this year’s national Fieldays.
Utes on the Toyota, Isuzu and Volkswagen stands at this year’s event from June 15 to 18 at Mystery Creek will feature the Advantage Roll-up Tonneau Cover recently introduced to the market by Best Bars.
The cover uses an alloy frame fixed to the top of the wellside tray with specially-designed brackets locking it into place. Removable ribs inside the cover keep it taut over the wellside tray.
The cover simply rolls up when the ribs are removed – it can be stored behind the cab when the driver needs to transport tall or bulky items. Elasticated straps are incorporated into the design to keep the rolled-up cover tightly in place while the ute is being driven.
The new cover combines the flexibility of traditional fabric covers, but without the need to drill unsightly holes in the side of the vehicle to install hooks for bungy cords. The unique frame holds the cover firmly in place. It is easy to unclip and roll back to allow access to the full cargo space.
The material used is a heavyduty vinyl, which is soft to the touch but very tough, giving it a further advantage over ordinary fabric tonneau covers which can stretch and tear more easily without the supporting and protective frame that is an integral part of the Best Bars product.
The new cover is designed to fit most ute models available in New Zealand.
Installation is easy, with no drilling required for ‘under rail’ deck liners.
The new cover is part of the Advantage range developed by Best Bars, well known for its towbars and other exterior vehicle accessories, including a range of stainless steel accessory items that help provide protection to the bodywork.
These include side steps and nudge bars for all the popular Utes and selected SUVs.
