Post staff ready to help
For all your postal and banking needs, look no further than Matamata NZ Post and Kiwibank, which has been nominated in the Matamata-Piako 2016 Business Awards.
Matamata NZ Post and Kiwibank are finalists for the Gull Customer Service Awards and manager Maree Campbell says they are thrilled to be nominated and also named as finalists.
She says they do try their best and at times their staff are very busy, often with a queue of people waiting to be served. They have many different requests, so staff need to be knowledgable about a range of different services.
‘‘When there is a long queue of people waiting, you just have to focus on the person in front of you. We are known as the heart of the community because of the variety of different services we offer.’’
Those services are extended to the international tourists too, and she says they do their best when attending to a person with very limited English.
Campbell says there is no training that can make the staff friendly and helpful, it’s ‘just who they are’. She says many of the staff have been there a long time and they know many of the locals by face and name and that personal touch makes a big difference to the customers.
As far as Campbell knows this is the first time Matamata NZ Post and Kiwibank has been nominated.
‘‘We are known as the heart of the community because of the variety of different services we offer.’’
