Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

A specialist local government consultancy group has released a report recommending where a proposed multi-sport stadium should be constructed in Matamata. The plan, headed by Matamata Futures, is beginning to take shape and the report, released to the Matamata Chronicle, certainly makes for interesting reading. The research report included consultation with a number of people and sport clubs from around the district to see what they wanted from a new facility. Over the next couple of weeks, those behind the plan will be seeking support or interest from local government candidates seeking election to the MatamataPiako District Council. A partnership with the council is crucial to getting this project over the line. Likewise other organisations such as Sport Waikato will be key to its success. Our story on the research report is on page 4 and there will be more stories on the project in the coming weeks. We also look forward to your feedback.
