Out, make stand against violence
From 10am to noon, there will be entertainment, food stalls, information/resource stands.
Beginning at 10.45am, there will be a three-kilometre walk (on a closed road) aimed at showing participants’ united stand against family violence.
Individuals, families, sports/ interest/community/service groups and businesses are urged to turn out and walk shoulder to shoulder against family violence.
November is also White Ribbon Month – the White Ribbon Appeal is recognised internationally on November 25.
Walkers, stroller/pram pushers and scooter riders are encouraged to wear white.
There will be prizes for bestdressed, as well as spot prizes.
BUSC is a group of volunteers, passionate about reducing family violence and creating a safe community right here in Matamata, Waharoa and surrounding district.
They are supported by the New Zealand Police, Matamata-Piako District Council, Starfish, Te Hauora o Ngati Haua, Ministry of Social Development as well as the Family Violence It’s Not OK project.
