Nobody has seen our pet Buddy

There is no sign of Buddy, but no body either.

Staff at Espresso to Go are heartbroken there has been no sign of Buddy the cat.

Buddy, the affectionate Espresso to Go cat, was mauled in a neighbouring store by an unleashed dog in August.

Buddy went missing straight after the owner managed to call the dog off and hasn’t been seen since.

Despite a few people saying they thought they had seen him, there have been no confirmed sightings.

Espresso to Go barista Maggie Scelly says they are refusing to believe the worst, instead thinking Buddy is too traumatised to return.

‘‘We will (remain hopeful), for a while longer. I feel that he is around town somewhere, but I don’t think he will come back here now.’’

Staff have not seen the dog and its owner in the CBD since the attack.

Scelly says the staff like the idea of having a shop cat and there is talk of getting another one at some stage. It will have very big boots to fill.
