Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

A while ago the reporters in our Central Waikato group, which includes this paper, Piako Post, Hamilton Press and Cambridge Edition, began working a weekend roster. We kicked this off to meet the demand for more coverage of activities on a Saturday or Sunday. In particular, we were keen to cover sport as part of our focus to bring readers more stories on people becoming active. We’re not specialist sport reporters and so from time-to-time we’ve asked clubs to provide a report, and we’ll provide the photos. One particular code which has grabbed at this opportunity is bowls. Hinuera, Rewa and Matamata bowls clubs have been particularly helpful in providing easy to read reports on their clubs’ tournaments and games. Others to provide reports include Hinuera Cricket Club and the Matamata Swifts football club. We look forward to meeting more people out and about in the weekends over the coming summer.
