Wins take Hinuera to the finals
It has been a fantastic fortnight for the Hinuera Bowling Club.
The club won the Waikato Men’s Premier A Interclub Title and the Waikato Open Women’s Triples Championship.
The Men’s Premier A Interclub team were 6 points clear after the first day and kept up their strong performance by winning 14 out of their 18 games. The team was Gerard Slattery playing the singles, Stu Settle and Bruce Milne playing the pairs, with Dwayne Cameron, Raika Gregory, Stefan McCartain and Paul Casey Jnr playing the fours. The club now qualifies for the National Interclub Finals to be played in Auckland on March 3-5, 2017.
The Premier B Men’s Interclub team finished a close fourth only 5 points from the winner. The Ladies’ Interclub have to complete their rained out first day on December 10. At the moment they sit in the lead on 36 points with Te Awamutu and Tokoroa only 6 points behind.
Last weekend the Waikato Open Triples were played. Hinuera had 3 entries in the Mens event and 1 in the Ladies. The Ladies faced a round robin draw due to the lack of entries. The triple made up of Bev Corbett (S), Debbie White (2) and Jocelyn

After qualifying there were two mens teams to face post section. Dwayne Cameron’s team of Paul Casey Snr & Jnr got through to the semi finals only to be beaten by a Hillcrest team.
Stu Settle’s combination with Bruce Milne & Kevin Smith have made it through to the final after beating Te Kuiti in the quarter final and Frankton Railway in the semi final. The final is to be played at a later date.
The club will host an open tournament, sponsored by COMAG on Thursday, November 17.
The format is optional fours and club members are reminded to put their names on the club blackboard if they are able to play.
