Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

The major earthquake which shook the country over a week ago continues to impact on the country and will likely to do so for months to come. It’s fair to say we haven’t recovered from the major quakes which took lives from the Canterbury region about five years ago and the latest shake is another blow to a region still coming to grips with the loss. One Matamata business has managed to use a project already in progress to help those affected by the latest earthquake. FORSI Innovation’s water filtration unit was sent to Kaikoura to provide clean H20 for the community there and is likely to remain in the South Island so it can help people in other towns. It’s a good story to come out of the distress of a disaster. It also shows how a local business can make an impression on a national scale. This week we also have a few other stories of businesses marking milestones. If you know of other businesses performing well, let us know, we’re keen to tell their stories.
