Luxury Vanquish S is new Aston Martin star
‘‘The car maker has worked to make its Vanquish S a more liveable car.’’
James Bond has another firebreathing Aston Martin at his disposal.
The British luxury sports car maker has unveiled its new rangetopping Vanquish S, which is powered by the brand’s 6.0-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine.
Aston Martin’s colossal V12 engine now produces 441kW - up from 421kW - and 630Nm. While not quite as neck breaking as the 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 found in the brand’s DB11 halo car, it still shows that emissions regulations haven’t completely ended the days of big naturally aspirated engines.
The car maker has worked to make its Vanquish S a more liveable car while delivering its deep reserves of power by retuning the suspension, damper internals, spring rates and anti-roll bar bushes. A range of carbon fibre aerodynamic touches give the range-topper a more sporting flavour over the regular Vanquish. Inside, the Vanquish S - befitting its prestige price tag - gets a range of premium applications including the use of quilted leather throughout.
