‘‘We were trying to get this done last summer with the rest of the Matamata works but things didn’t go to plan.

‘‘We will continue to maintain the road to a serviceable level until our contractors can get in for the full reconstruction work,’’ Ms Boyt says. ‘‘Work at this southern end of Broadway is likely to be done during daytime hours with traffic managed through the site.

‘‘We will have more later in the season.’’ details
