Groups do­ing good for peo­ple or the en­vi­ron­ment in the East­ern Waikato can ap­ply now to be part of Z En­ergy’s 2017 Good in the Hood.

Ap­pli­ca­tions are now open and the 32 groups se­lected will all get a piece of the $4000 each lo­cal Z sta­tion will be giv­ing away in May.

Since 2012 more than $4 mil­lion has gone to com­mu­nity groups and projects do­ing amaz­ing work to make neigh­bour­hoods thrive.

The eight Z sta­tions in the East­ern Waikato are look­ing for groups help­ing to ad­dress a need in the lo­cal neigh­bour­hood.

To en­sure the needs of lo­cal peo­ple and the en­vi­ron­ment are ad­dressed, Z’s teams at sta­tions in the area will choose which groups they’ll sup­port.

Cus­tomers will de­ter­mine what per­cent­age of fund­ing goes to each group by vot­ing with an or­ange to­ken when shop­ing at Z this May.

All Z sta­tions will have an ad­di­tional $1,000 of Good in the Hood fund­ing to give away in the neigh­bour­hood this year. Groups also ben­e­fit from in­creased ex­po­sure and a chance to in­ter­act with their com­mu­nity at the lo­cal Z. Groups can en­ter on­line at­inthe­hood. Ap­pli­ca­tions close on 28.

East­ern Waikato Z sta­tions in­clude Huntly, Mata­mata, Mor­rinsville, Ngaru­awahia, Ngatea, Paeroa, Whanga­mata and Whi­tianga.
