Po­lice seek ciggy thieves

Po­lice are seeking any in­for­ma­tion on of­fend­ers who ram raided a petrol sta­tion on SH29, near Mata­mata.

In the early hours of Wed­nes­day morn­ing last week, of­fend­ers ram raided the small petrol sta­tion and stole a full cig­a­rette cab­i­net. They then did a petrol drive off an hour later in Hamil­ton. The of­fend­ers im­ages were caught on CCTV.

The Waikato tac­ti­cal crime unit have ar­rested 17 of­fend­ers for 32 sep­a­rate ‘‘ram raid’’ style bur­glar­ies in the Waikato in the past eight months.

The ma­jor­ity of these of­fend­ers are now in prison serv­ing large sen­tences.
