Men’s Shed holding man style sale

Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place - REXINE HAWES

This Saturday the Matamata Men’s Shed is holding a man-style garage sale and sausage sizzle.

The items on sale will be a plethora of tools, which have been donated or bequeathed and are now surplus to requirements, but still in great condition.

‘‘We stand by everything we are selling. It has all been checked by a qualified electrician,’’ said Matamata Men’s Shed chairman Bill Hughes.

‘‘We started out by accepting charitable gifts, but we are at the stage where we have selected the best and now have surplus.’’

The garage sale will also help meet day-to-day running costs of the Men’s Shed, which has recently gone from two-to-three days a week.

Hughes said if anyone has ever been interested in joining the Men’s Shed, the garage sale is the perfect opportunity to get out and meet the blokes and ask any questions.

They are always keen to invite more men to join.

Over the past four weeks, the members have been building wooden toys such as aeroplanes and trucks and also indoor and outdoor furniture for display, which can be made to order.
