GOLDEN BOOT

Matamata Chronicle - - Your Paper, Your Place -

It appears there may be a lack of competitive men in the Waikato. It’s been three years since Morrinsville man Jeff Peek lifted the Golden Gumboot in the Rural Bachelor of the Year competition in 2014 and organisers fear the drought is set to continue. To date local fellas have shied away from the competition, partnered by Farmlands, and there are real fears the trophy may be heading south with 75 per cent of applicants so far from the South Island. New Zealand Agricultural Fieldays has called for eligible farmers to put their skills and charisma to the test at Mystery Creek from June 14 to 17, 2017.
