The search is on for New Zealand’s tasti­est and most ten­der steak. Beef farmers are en­cour­aged to sub­mit their en­try into the 5th an­nual 2017 Beef + Lamb New Zealand Steak of Ori­gin com­pe­ti­tion. The com­pe­ti­tion is a great plat­form to show­case the beef raised in New Zealand. All com­pe­ti­tion en­tries are aged for three weeks be­fore un­der­go­ing strin­gent sci­en­tific test­ing. The steak is tested for ten­der­ness and eat­ing qual­ity. The en­tries that meet the colour thresh­old and are the most ten­der will go through to the semi-fi­nal.
