Matamata Chronicle - - Sport - MATAMATA LADIES GOLF

Our competition this week was a 27-hole best net event.

The winner, and consequently, Golfer of the Week, was Barbara Hodgkinson. Her total of 109 was enough to win from Agnes Kim 110 and Sandra Pemberton 110.5. Since moving up to 18 holes Barbara has continued to impress with her consistency and continued improvement.

Best of the Saturday scramble results were: Ruth Taylor 41 Lucy Troth 38 Cali Gomaz 37.

The Robert Harris voucher was won by Cali.

Best results from Tuesdays scramble were: Arlene Joe 36; Sandra Pemberton 36; Barbara Hodgkinson 36; Shelly James 35; Maria Walsh 34; Shirlie Ryan 34; Bev Lamb 34; Agnes Kim 34; Diann Voyce 34; Catherine Brown 32 and Sheelah Lamb 31.

Not all players decided to tackle the extra 9 holes, to complete the 27 hole competition. Well done to those who made the effort. O’Del’Emz voucher winner was Diann Voyce. Matchplay winners to continue through the draws in the ring cup and Mary Tucker basket were Michelle Liddle, Ruth Taylor and Ann Bates.

Our 9-hole ladies competed in a putting competition. Joyce Stocker showing her skills to win with only 13 putts, which included 5-one putts.

Perhaps we could all get a lesson from Joyce.
