Hinuera played away at Pirongia.

Hinuera began the game at pace with Todd Allen, Jason Brady and Levi Henare featuring, the latter denied a try by a high bouncing ball in Pirongia’s dead ball area. The Gold and Blacks were not to be denied for long, Bradley Leuthard initiated the move from his own 22 which passed through six pairs of hands before he took the last pass to score, Benji Olesen converting, 7-0, Hinuera. Matt Ring, returning from injury, sent his backs away at every opportunit­y, Allen being the next to score, 12-0, Hinuera. Pirongia scored there only points with a penalty right on half time. Hinuera’s poor discipline continued from previous weeks with tries ruled out because of bad choices, especially in the tackle area. Player of the Day, Allen scored again, while Hadliegh May scored the bonus point try when bursting on to a pass from a long way out. Final score 24-3, Hinuera. Developmen­t team remains, 29-18.
