Nom­i­nate your district’s sport­ing hero for 2017

Sport Waikato is look­ing to ac­knowl­edge 2017 sport­ing ex­cel­lence in the re­gion.

Nom­i­na­tions for the Mata­mata-Pi­ako District Awards are only open un­til Thurs­day, Septem­ber 28, 2017.

Cat­e­gory win­ners go for­ward to be con­sid­ered for the pres­ti­gious Brian Perry Waikato Re­gional Sports Awards, to be held on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 1, 2018.

Sport Waikato Re­gional Ca­pa­bil­ity and Events Co­or­di­na­tor Gilly Alexan­der said the awards sea­son fol­lows a very suc­cess­ful sport­ing pe­riod for the greater Waikato re­gion.

‘‘We have lots to cel­e­brate and recog­nis­ing sport­ing ta­lent in our re­gion is very im­por­tant’’ said Alexan­der.

‘‘We en­cour­age each club, school and sports or­gan­i­sa­tion to take the time to fill in a nom­i­na­tion form so that the achieve­ments of your district can be high­lighted.’’

Sport Waikato makes it as easy as pos­si­ble to nom­i­nate on­line. From coach of the year to team of the year, the cat­e­gories re­flect the var­i­ous roles in sport.

The awards eventswill take place on Thurs­day, Novem­ber 9, 2017.
