Matamata police are warning those in rural areas to keep valuables secured as farm bikes continue to be targeted. ‘‘Keep bikes out of sight from the road, there are plenty of low lives that will take advantage of opportunities,’’ says Matamata police sergeant Blair Hayde. It comes after weeks of reports of stolen farm bikes. A Suzuki quad bike has been seen on Factory Rd, Waharoa, and enquiries are continuing. A farm bike was taken from Walton Rd and Wardville Rd. A Wrigley Place home was entered and the alarm activated. A retail premises on Tainui St was entered and liquor was targeted. The offender was found and charged.
