Black cof­fee and posh toast are Carter Were’s sig­na­ture of­fer­ings. Were bakes her de­li­cious loaves out of a tiny Grey Lynn shop, even sup­ply­ing some of Auck­land’s ma­jor restau­rants. Go for the pea and sheep feta num­ber: peas and salty feta piled high on top of her ever-pop­u­lar seeded sour­dough. The chewy choco­late cook­ies are a great post-toast snack, and there are pick­les, chut­neys and flow­ers by Muck Flo­ral to take away.
