BENEATH THE SHEETS
Find any excuse to stay in, apply a sheet mask and treat yo’ self to a DIY spa day
Apply a sheet mask for a DIY spa day
Sheet masks may have been made famous by celebrity selfies, but they’re good for more than just an Instagram moment. The trendy product originated in Asia as part of the K-beauty craze and is a relaxing, ritualistic addition to a beauty routine.
The paper, hydrogel and fibre sheets are individually packaged, making them super convenient and easy to use. While your skin rests beneath the fabric, it’s able to soak up all of the beneficial goodness from the powerful, nutrient-rich serum which the sheets are infused with. Unlike traditional cream or clay masks, sheet masks aren’t designed to cleanse pores or exfoliate skin; their business is to brighten, hydrate and soothe — to make you feel rejuvenated.
We recommend using sheet masks once a week, particularly in the morning before a party to guarantee your makeup looks lit later on. Apply to a cleansed face and leave on for the recommended time stated on the packet while you lie down to watch another episode on Netflix. Take a selfie (obvs), then remove the mask and gently massage the excess product into your skin with your fingertips. Think of it like a facial in a packet for a quarter of the price.
