Another year

-

Well, another year gone, and I must say it’s been another exciting one, with new vehicles leaping out of the showrooms, and lots of associated business for workshops.

With a new record about to be set in terms of new car sales, I’m happy to say I was wrong in my forecast of a drop-off this year, but who would have thought the pace would not just continue, but actually intensify?

So I’m keeping my mouth shut for 2016, with the proviso that I hope we can be talking about another record at the end of 2016!

It’s been a busy year for us at Motor Equipment News, and I must say the team has kept me on my y toes, with continued advertising growth which in turn means more editorial pages to fill.

To this end I’d like to thank Bernard Carpinter for his excellent motor sport coverage over the years, and to announce that he’ll be stepping down from the New Year. Ross MacKay, who is already part of f the Adrenalin Publishing team as editor of NZ4WD magazine, will be providing an enlarged motor sportrt section which will cover more of the bases, starting g with our February issue.

I know the whole team is looking forward to a good break and a bit of a rest, and at the same time I know they will join me in wishing all our readers and our advertisers a really great Christmas break and a happy new year.

Oh, and if you fancy spending time in the bright lights, make sure you get a sober driver, bus, or taxi to get you home if you’ve had a drink or two – otherwise those bright lights may well turn into blue ones, and we don’t want that, do we?

All the best,

John.
