Hankook Tyre wins ‘Good Design Award’
Hankook Tyre’s new product, the Winter i*cept iZ2A, has won the prestigious Good Design Award, one of the four internationally recognised professional design awards, including the iF Design Award, Red Dot, and IDEA. The Winter i*cept iZ2A tyre took out the category of Transportation Equipment and Facilities.
The Winter i*cept iZ2A, released in September, was highly acclaimed for its innovative design which provides optimal performance and safe driving on various road surfaces in snowy conditions.
The differentiated design comes from cutting-edge technology, improving winter driving experiences with specialised pattern designs such as sharp block edges and a spiral 3D structure tread block.
Moreover, it is also commended for outstanding design that enables drivers to maintain balance in both snowy and wet road conditions with coexistence of symmetric and asymmetric profiles.
It is the third time during 2016 that Hankook has been recognised for a major international design award. Following wins in the iF Design Award in February and Red Dot in March and July, the continuous recognition by world renowned design awards highlights Hankook as a global leader in design and innovation.
The Good Design Award has been a sole comprehensive design evaluation and commendation system in Japan since it was established in 1957.
Celebrating its 58th season, the award acknowledges the best designs from leading companies around the world. “G Mark”, the symbol of the award has been recognised widely as a mark representing good design.
Core criteria for evaluation includes innovation and practicality.
