wedding shoe trends

My Wedding - - WEDDING SHOE TRENDS - By Rebekah Reynolds

One of the many decisions facing a bride is the type of shoe to choose for her special day. To help with that decision, we are taking a look at current bridal shoe trends. With the lace and beads and special detailing adorning gowns today, the classic ivory or white shoe in a simple style is a perfect option to complement rather than detract from the dress. Trousseau Bridal & Evening Shoes have some excellent options to choose from - for example, the Vivian with an elegant stiletto and pointed toe and Magnolia with a more rounded toe.

The second trend, and always popular, is the exquisite crystal shoe - especially those adorned with Swarovski crystals that provide a magical sparkle. These shoes will always have a place for some brides. The Rhiana, Catherine and Bedazzle are all favourites in this category.

The exciting news at Trousseau is that, for the first time, there are also crystal shoes that come in three beautiful

colours: blue, fuchsia and champagne.

This brings us to the third trend of dyeing shoes to a particular colour. This trend definitely suits the bride who wants to move away from the more traditional look or wants her wedding shoes to be something she can wear again and continue to love after the big day.

Cherry Sonderer from Trousseau has had a number of brides recently who have chosen to dye their shoes for their wedding day. “We are finding more and more brides recently are opting to dye their bridal shoes. Some have chosen to match their flowers, bridesmaid’s colours, or simply their own favourite colour that they have never been able to find a pair of shoes in. Having a touch of colour peeking out beneath your gown also adds a bit of fun and interest.”

Cherry warns though that not all shoes can be dyed. “The shoes must be made of natural fabrics and have no synthetic fibre in them.” If you have opted for an ivory or white shoe for the day, they can of course also be dyed afterwards for continued use.

Trousseau is solely dedicated to bridal and evening footwear and they take a great deal of pride in ensuring that you have the right shoe to take you down the aisle ... or onto the beach, or through the vineyard. Cherry says: “Many brides come to us and are unsure of what they are looking for, so we work with them to find the right shoe. We also advise on correct fit to ensure comfort for the duration – it’s a long day and the last thing a bride wants to worry about is ill-fitting and uncomfortable footwear.”
