My Wedding - - VINTAGE BRIDAL TRENDS - By Virginia Thompson

Hilary Duff’s wedding to hockey player Mike Comrie was held at a private estate in Santa Barbara, California in front of 100 guests. They all wore Vera Wang and Hilary had her sister as the maid-of-honour. Mark’s Garden designed the flowers using a neutral colour palette, including roses and dahlias in low-standing centrepieces. Her bouquet was made up of blush dahlias, tied with linen ribbon. They wanted a rustic, classic feel to the wedding. The reception was held in a muslin draped wooden pergola, dripping with greenery, glass domes and candles, and vintage hanging lanterns hung from the ceiling of the tent. Centrepieces of dahlias, roses and magnolia leaves lined the tables giving the reception a rustic garden party look Anne Hathaway married Adam Shulman at a private estate in Big Sur on the California coast on September 29, 2012. Anne wore a custom wedding dress by Valentino with a 1920’s-inspired headband attached to a simple veil.

The décor for ceremony and reception featured autumn branches and over $60,000 worth of flowers supplied by florist The Velvet Garden. Inside the marquee, vintage ivory roses hung above the tables. The menu featured vegan food. Guests danced to a jazz trio, and then a DJ who kept everyone dancing to 80’s and 90’s music. The couple honeymooned in Asia. Canadian singer Michael Buble shattered hearts around the world when he finally wed Argentine TV actress Luisana Lopilato in Buenos Aires. The pair didn’t forget their fans on their big day, for a mob of followers soon after tying the knot. Luisana held a small phalaenopsis orchid bouquet. They had three weddings - a civil ceremony in Buenos Aires, followed by a full ceremony with 300 guests the following weekend at a mansion outside Buenos Aires, followed by another wedding in Vancouver in April. The latter featured luxurious and contemporary white elements with the WOW factor in the splotches of colour in the flowers dotted around the room.

Apparently burglars raided the couple’s home in Buenos Aires while they were taking their vows at a nearby resort. According to TMZ, criminals disabled the home’s alarm system and covered up security cameras. There is no word yet about what was actually taken or how much damage was done, but the couple refused to let the raid darken their mood. “I will not let this ruin the happiest day of my life,” Lopilato told journalists. Kate Moss’ wedding to Jamie Hince was a bohemian dream - romantic, enchanted, elegant and vintage chic. Kate’s bridesmaids and flower girls complimented her ethereal bohemian style. A fleet of vintage Rolls Royce cars transported the wedding party to the ceremony at St Peter’s Church where 138 guests waited. The pathway to the church door was lined with delphiniums, daisies, scabious, and sweet-scented stock. The enormous wedding party comprised of 16 bridesmaids and flowergirls and 2 pageboys. The reception, held in an Edwardian marquee, was beautifully decorated with flowers by Scarlet and Violet florists - an English garden party fairytale infused with simple wildflowers and sprigs of fresh foliage, with the entire party crowned in garden halos comprised of different flowers, each to match the girls’ personal styles. The reception flowers included simple arrangements of English garden roses in different types of vases. Lavender and cream roses were mixed with wildflowers to create gorgeous centerpieces.
