The team at The Dif­fer­ence Cater­ing & Events are pro­duc­ing some in­cred­i­ble menus from their food pro­duc­tion fa­cil­ity in St Johns, Auck­land. Their highly ex­pe­ri­enced team is led by own­ers, Stephanie and Philip Reynolds and boasts a cu­mu­la­tive 86 years ex­pe­ri­ence.

Stephanie be­gan her ca­reer in food some 20 years ago, gain­ing valu­able ex­pe­ri­ence at 5-star es­tab­lish­ments in the UK, in­clud­ing The Re­gent Ho­tel Lon­don. Philip spent 12 years in Lon­don and Europe per­fect­ing his craft in es­tab­lish­ments such as Marco-Pierre White’s Miche­lin-starred L’Es­car­got where he headed up the Pi­casso Room. On his re­turn to Auck­land, his role at Otto’s saw him pre­par­ing com­pre­hen­sive menus for in­ter­na­tional clients such as Moet & Chan­don, Co­gnac Martell and Brown Broth­ers. He even headed up Fon­terra’s Food Ser­vices where he was in charge of new prod­uct con­cept and de­vel­op­ment!

The Dif­fer­ence works with some of Auck­land’s lead­ing venues, from lodges and re­treats, to gal­leries, yacht clubs and other ded­i­cated wed­ding and func­tion fa­cil­i­ties. How­ever, they’ve been known to set up in a pad­dock, on the beach or at your pri­vate home.

A quick glance through the co­pi­ous tes­ti­mo­ni­als is ev­i­dence of their pro­fes­sion­al­ism, out­stand­ing at­ten­tion to the small­est de­tail and qual­ity of ser­vice.

While their web­site pro­vides you with a se­lec­tion of menus, don’t be fooled into think­ing that’s all there is on of­fer. The Dif­fer­ence cus­tomise their menus to suit you, the event and the lo­ca­tion. If there’s some­thing you want and you don’t see it on the list, just ask - they can tai­lor menus from scratch. Whether you’ve asked them to pro­duce muffins for your hen’s party or a sil­ver ser­vice de­gus­ta­tion menu, you can guar­an­tee that the food will be of the finest qual­ity. They take pride in ev­ery sin­gle dish that leaves their kitchen!

An­other “dif­fer­ence” is that they of­fer ei­ther a prep-and-drop ser­vice – per­fect if you’re hav­ing a more in­ti­mate oc­ca­sion and don’t want serv­ing staff on hand. They can also pro­vide you with Cham­pagne, Meth­odes, wine, beer and non-al­co­holic drinks – one more thing to tick off your To Do list!
