PIMPED- OUT PAPER LANTERNS

PAPER LANTERNS ARE A GREAT WAY OF DECORATING A WEDDING VENUE, BUT YOU MAY BE TIRED OF THE SAME OLD BORING OPTIONS. WITH OUR EASY HOW- TO GUIDE, YOU CAN GET CREATIVE AND CUSTOM MAKE YOUR OWN TO FIT ANY WEDDING OR PARTY THEME.

My Wedding - - PLANNING -

Things you will need:

• Paper lanterns – plain white or in the colour of your choice

• Paper and felt flowers – or other decorations of your choice

• Glue

• Ribbon and pearl strands

• Scissors

• Optional: Paint - you could paint white lanterns first in watercolours of your choice

Step 1: Assemble the paper lantern. We chose to use two different types of flowers – white daisies as a base, and then a pop of colour and texture with felt roses. Decide on the pattern you would like to create - we went for quite a free flowing look, concentrated on one side of the lantern. Start glueing/attaching your base flowers.

Step 2: Decide on the placement of your felt roses and glue/ attach into position.

Step 3: Tie a mix of ribbon and pearl strands to the wire base of your lantern.

Leave everything to dry over night, and your pimped-out lanterns will be ready to go!

Hang them from the ceiling in your venue or in trees at an outdoor wedding. Use them as hanging centrepieces above your guest tables or as a fun backdrop.
