MATHS CHALLENGE
Maths was alive and well when teams of four from Tamatea Primary,
Porritt Primary, Napier Intermediate and Tamatea Intermediate competed in the inaugural Tamatea High Maths Challenge recently.
Tamatea High’s head of maths Sanjesh Kumar organised the challenge for the primary schools — the teams competed to answer a list of maths questions within the allotted time of 30 minutes.
Sanjesh is enthusiastic about giving the young people in our community the opportunity to develop their skills and explore where maths can lead them in the future, says Tamatea High School principal Robin Fabish.
Porritt Primary won the Year 5 competition, Tamatea Primary the Year 6 and Napier Intermediate the Year 7.
