Aus­tralia sur­vived the fi­nal day of the third test against In­dia, fin­ish­ing on 204-6 in their sec­ond in­nings to earn a draw and keep the se­ries is level at 1-1. Peter Hand­scomb (72 not out) bat­tled dili­gently for 261 min­utes, form­ing a key part­ner­ship with Shaun Marsh that de­nied In­dia a vic­tory they ap­peared on track for in the morn­ing ses­sion. ‘‘If there’s any­thing called mo­men­tum in cricket it’s prob­a­bly with us at the mo­ment. In­dia com­ing to­day would have ex­pected to bowl us out. I’m sure they’re hurt­ing a lit­tle bit,’’ Aus­tralia skip­per Steve Smith said. The fourth and fi­nal test is in Dhar­masala on Satur­day.
