Got a passion for fashion?

Nelson Mail - - NEWS - KATY JONES

The call’s out for a someone with a passion for fashion to put their stamp on the last independent women’s clothing store in Richmond.

Sarah Derecourt is selling the shop Stacey in Richmond Mall, that she bought four years ago, to concentrate on her other job as a senior consultant at MediaWorks.

‘‘The business is going really well but then I’ve got this MediaWorks business that is going gangbusters, so that’s where I need to put my focus.’’

Derecourt wants to avoid a chain store taking Stacey’s place.

She hasn’t listed it with a real estate company, and is only interested in selling the stock, chattels and database.

‘‘I want to make it easy for someone who’s got a passion for clothing and people to be able to come in there, and they don’t have to have a million bucks, they can just come in and just pick it up and take it over.’’

But Derecourt understands the business might move.

‘‘There are some real opportunities coming up down Queen Street and further into the mall,’’ she said.

Derecourt hoped the new owner would keep on the store’s nine part-time staff.

She advised anyone interested in the sale to call the store, or contact her directly on 021 244 9875.
