Sultana, Shapeshifter headlining Bay Dreams

-

Melbourne-based one-woman band Tash Sultana will headline 2019’s Bay Dreams at Mount Maunganui on January 2 and in Nelson on January 4.

Joining her will be Kiwi legends drum’n’bass legends Shapeshifter.

Sticky Fingers, who recently played two sold-out shows in Auckland, will also headline, as well as Peking Duk, $uicideboy$, and British DJ and producer Macky Gee, who will be returning to New Zealand after recently selling out his shows in a matter of minutes.

Pnau join the list for their first show on Kiwi soil, and Kiwi reggae favourites Katchafire will also hit the stage.

Mt Maunganui has hosted the one-day festival since 2016, attracting a crowd of 25,000. Earlier this year, organisers announced that Bay Dreams would expand to Nelson, and they expect to attract 15,000 people to Trafalgar Park.

The Bay Dreams: South Island edition will be run in a similar fashion to the North Island event, with gates opening early afternoon and the festival finishing around 10.30pm.

Mr Carmack, Hybrid Minds and Stanton Warriors are the first acts announced for the Bay Dreams pre-party on January 3.

Camping will be available at both festivals. This year’s Bay Dreams will see New Zealand’s biggest silent disco, a premium marketplace and hot showers.

A one-day earlybird ticket deal starts at 7pm on Wednesday July 25 from baydreams.co.nz
