- Carly Gooch carly.gooch@stuff.co.nz

If you love Waking Up the Neighbours , or just like being a bit Reckless, then this announcement is sure to send you to Heaven.

International Canadian rocker, Bryan Adams, will belt out well-known tunes as he cradles his guitar at Trafalgar Park during his four-stop New Zealand 2019 tour, Shine A Light, presented by Neptune Entertainment and The Breeze.

The tour celebrates the release of his upcoming album, Shine A Light, his 14th studio album.

Best known for chart-toppers including

Summer of ’69, Run To You, Heaven and the Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves number one, (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, the Grammy award winner has had a string of number ones in over 40 countries and has sold more than 65 million records.

The most memorable global icons who have graced the stage in sunny Nelson include Crowded House, Tina Turner who strutted her shapely legs on Trafalgar Park’s stage in April 1997 and gritty-voiced, Joe Cocker who last performed at the Trafalgar Centre in January 2011.

Promoter Toby Burrows said Nelson had been recognised, earlier in the year, as a great host city for more music events.

"We have already announced and sold out 20,000 people to Bay Dreams in January, we have UB40 coming on the February 5 next year and with the response to both of those from the community, it gave us confidence to place Bryan Adams here also."

His two South Island destinations are in for a bonus with special guests Dave Dobbyn and the Jordan Luck Band.

Tickets for Shine A Light go on sale on November 8 at 12pm, available from Ticketmaster.co.nz
