❚ Ab­stract painter and jazz vi­o­lin­ist Richard Adams will be dis­play­ing a se­ries of new works at Red Gallery, Bridge St, Nel­son along­side a se­lec­tion of ceram­ics by Mandy Gargiulo un­til Novem­ber 15.

❚ Car­o­line Bel­lamy: Wild & Light ex­hi­bi­tion is at the Parker Gallery, Achilles Ave, Nel­son from Novem­ber 20 to De­cem­ber 11.

❚ The Nel­son Sym­phony Or­ches­tra’s fi­nal con­cert for 2018, Ro­mance Mys­tery, will take place at the Nel­son Cen­tre of Mu­si­cal Arts au­di­to­rium on Novem­ber 24 at 7.30pm.

❚ Brent Forbes’ ex­hi­bi­tion Coastal is open­ing at Red Gallery on Novem­ber 16, 5.30pm to 7pm, and will run un­til De­cem­ber 7.

❚ Mark Bas­kett’s ex­hi­bi­tion On that land where we stand is at the Re­fin­ery Artspace, Hal­i­fax St, Nel­son un­til Novem­ber 17.

❚ A ret­ro­spec­tive ex­hi­bi­tion ex­am­in­ing the life and work of painter He­len Flora Victoria Scales (1887-1985) is open­ing at the Suter Art Gallery, Bridge St, Nel­son on Novem­ber 16 at 5.30pm, and will run un­til Jan­uary 27.

❚ Lo­cal artists David Car­son and Jim Mackay are dis­play­ing their ex­hi­bi­tion Low Hang­ing Fruit at the Re­fin­ery Artspace un­til De­cem­ber 8.

❚ Emma Mon­crieff is show­ing art and sculp­tures in her Dress Se­ries 1 ex­hi­bi­tion at Nel­son City Framers, Hal­i­fax St, Nel­son un­til De­cem­ber 3.

❚ Nel­son’s elite Chroma Cham­ber Choir is pre­sent­ing a pro­gramme of Re­nais­sance and Baroque choral mu­sic to cel­e­brate the Ad­vent sea­son.
