Confidence in council
Bryan Forrest Nelson, November 5 Congratulations to the Tasman District Council on its credit rating being raised in the latest Standard & Poor’s report (Nelson Mail, November 3). This is significant, as it demonstrates a confidence by a global agency in the council’s financial performance and in the council’s upcoming commitments, including being a minority funder (34 per cent) of the Waimea community dam, and guarantor for Government loans to Waimea Irrigators Ltd.
The council is sticking to its promised debt cap, while also investing in crucial water storage infrastructure.
