(You may re­call that Robin Knox-John­son won the first race 50 years ago this year.) The par­tic­i­pants have faced some in­cred­i­ble weather chal­lenges, and a num­ber have with­drawn. The re­main­ing yachts are pass­ing through New Zea­land wa­ters at this time.
