Linden Estate Winery

New Zealand Classic Car - - Summer Wine Guide -

Driving South to Hawke’s Bay through the picturesque Esk Valley floor, you realize you are in Hawke’s Bay wine country, laden with gateway vineyards. The first cellar door to greet you is Linden Estate, a boutique winery established in 1971.

Linden Estate’s vineyards are established on five hectares of valley slopes and terraces, and the seven varieties planted in small parcels are managed passionately, from vine to bottle. The unique microclimate and deliberate low yields express fruit-driven intensity in boutique amounts.

Free from corporate structure, the approach at Linden is quality over quantity. Wines are only available from the winery cellar door, and selected wine retailers and restaurants.

For visitors, Linden Estate Winery offers unique wines, beautiful views and approachable staff. The cellar door and restaurant is elevated above the surrounding vines, providing a spectacular vista across the valley floor to the wooded hills in the background. The Valley d’vine Restaurant allows for a chance to relax with a glass of boutique wine or lunch, and head chef, Greg Miller, is highly regarded amongst locals.

Should you be heading North, Linden Estate is the Hawke’s Bay’s last wine stop — the next winery is 280km North, so do stop in!
