February 1, 2015: Galaxy of Cars and Swap Meet, Western Springs Speedway Stadium, Stadium Rd. Automotive Swap Meet starts at 7.30am, Car Show at 10am. Classic, vintage cars and motorbikes, cars of interest. Trade sites available and entertainment. Another New Lynn Lions Club project, profits to charity. February 8, 2015: British Car Day, Trentham Memorial Park, Upper Hutt. Calling all owners of British vehicles powered by a V8 engine. The stars of the next British Car Day will be the V8s! However, all other British vehicles are welcome as well, from vintage to modern, from traction engines to Minis. The organizers invite you to come and have a picnic day out at Trentham Memorial Park from 10am to 3pm. They can’t guarantee good weather, but the event has only been cancelled once in 28 years. Bring your club displays and information — but it is not necessary to be in a club. Good food and coffee available, plus some other merchandise. Proceeds go to help keep the Wellington Free Ambulance free. Display vehicles $5 per vehicle, or gold coin donation for spectators. Entrance via Barton Road. February 14–15, 2015: Coromandel Gold Rush and Gum Diggers Charity Cruise. The first part of this event will be a Treasure Hunt called the Gold Rush. The second part, aptly named The Gold-diggers Charity Cruise, will be just that, a cruise. Organized by the Thames Valley Vintage & Classic Car Enthusiast Group, the event is planned to take part around the Coromandel Peninsula loop road (SH25). March 8, 2015: Wheels on Windsor, Windsor Park, Grove Road, Hastings. Come to beautiful sunny Hastings and enjoy a fine display of classic vehicles in park-like surroundings, from 9am–3pm. All traditional and modern classic vehicles welcome, including British, European, Australian, Japanese, American, military vehicles and classic motorbikes. Food and coffee available, as well as entertainment for the kids. Cash only, no EFTPOS, $5 entry for display vehicles. Public entry by gold coin donation benefiting the Brain Injury Association HB Inc. Spot prizes to be won on the day, with category prize-giving at 2.30pm. On Saturday March 7, a tour through Church Road Winery and Museum is planned, with tastings, at $12 per head. This will be followed by a scenic drive and dinner. Sunday 8th March 2015: Twin Rivers Motoring Extravaganza. Organised by the Rotary Club of Avonhead. Entry fee of $15 per vechicle. All proceeds to the Child Cancer Foundation. A &P Showground, Curletts Road, Christchurch. A popular Christchurch motoring extravaganza, providing all car clubs and all owners the opportunity to display their vehicles on the grass fields of the showgrounds. The result of a survey of entrants over the last 2 years has meant the parade is no longer part of the event, instead to be a static parade. Designated areas can be set aside for car clubs and special groups. An auto extravaganza and family day out at a very attractive and spacious venue. March 22, 2015: 13th Annual North Canterbury Classic Tour. Starts at Hi-tech Building Systems (next to Stewarts Classic Car Collection), 656 Wairaki Rd, Russley, Christchurch. Register from 9am–10am. $15. All classic vehicles welcome — cars, vans, utes, trucks, campers, and motorcycles. Any age, body style, type, or condition, there were 187 classics last year. Tour is over scenic sealed roads to places of interest. Bring a picnic lunch. All entrants to receive Newzealandclassic Car magazine. April 3– 6, 2015: Austin-healey Car Club of New Zealand Monaco Rally, Nelson. The Austin-healey Car Club of NZ holds its biennial rally in Nelson over Easter weekend, and includes guests and their vehicles from Australia and the USA. April 3– 6, 2015: Classic Fighters 2015, Omaka Aerodrome. This year’s theme is ANZAC and we require vehicles for display including those associated with Australia/ New Zealand, e.g. Ford, Holden, Chrysler, BMC, VW, Bolwell, Mclaren, Trekka. In return you get two passes for three days (we require the vehicle for at least two days). You must register with Patrick Pascoe at email@example.com as passes will be emailed out. Register early, accommodation is limited during the event.
April 18–19, 2015: Autumn Colours Outing, Otago. Its 13th year running and as normal starting in Dunedin. Make a weekend of it in Otago. This trip will take in Northern Southland en route to Arrowtown. A very enjoyable and relaxing event. Just ask anyone who has been before. A wonderful chance to get out and take in those beautiful Otago autumn colours. Open to all types of vehicles and ages. January 15–24, 2016: Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring. Scheduled to take place in Dunedin, this event will be the 10th International Rally held by the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand Inc. The festival has evolved over the years, and there are now significant numbers of vintage motorcycles involved as well as vintage, veteran and classic cars.
