If you’re still on summer holiday, by now you must be running out of things to do — no problem, we’ve got something to keep you from getting bored with all that sand, surf and sun! Yes, it’s time to check out some model kits from AMT — the perfect way to while away a few lazy hours this summer. First up, released to coincide with the Mustang’s recent 50th anniversary, this amazing 1:16 model kit of a ’65 Mustang is 292mm long and features opening doors and hood, as well as vinyl hoses and wiring. Purists can build the model as stock standard, while more adventurous builders can opt to customize the model with ‘Cobra’ engine options and American Racing wheels. With a detailed 4.7-litre V8 up front and a Rally Pac instrument cluster, the model also comes with optional whitewall tyre overlays. Fancy a fastback? What about this 1:25 Shelby GT350? Moulded in black, this beast comes with all the Shelby goodies — including KelseyHayes wheels and Firestone tyres, chromed valve covers, a grille and centred lights and Shelby tail-lights. Finally, for those into Ford’s other performance icon, the Thunderbird, AMT has this 1:25 1962 ’Bird. The model can be built with an open top or raised roof, and as stock or customized with optional parts such as four-barrel carburettor, fender skirts, dropped spindles, custom tail-lights, a performance intake manifold and Sombrero wheels. Thanks to good guys at Toymod Ltd — the NZ AMT distributor — we have one example of the 1:25 Shelby GT350 to give away to a lucky reader, just answer the following question:

Q: What’s the origin of the ‘350’ in the GT350’S model name?
