March 8: Wheels on Windsor, Windsor Park, Grove Road, Hastings. Come to beautiful sunny Hastings and enjoy a fine display of classic vehicles in park-like surroundings, from 9am–3pm. All traditional and modern classic vehicles welcome, including British, European, Australian, Japanese, American, military vehicles and classic motorbikes. Food and coffee available, as well as entertainment for the kids. Cash only, no EFTPOS, $5 entry for display vehicles. Public entry by gold coin donation benefiting the Brain Injury Association HB Inc. Spot prizes to be won on the day, with category prize-giving at 2.30pm. On Saturday March 7, a tour through Church Road Winery and Museum is planned, with tastings, at $12 per head. This will be followed by a scenic drive and dinner. March 8: Marlborough Hospice Vehicle Display, Waterlea Race Course, Blenheim. 9.30am until 3pm. Annual event run to help raise funds for the Hospice. Entry is $5 per vehicle. March 8: Twin Rivers Motoring Extravaganza, A&P Showground, Curletts Road, Christchurch. Organized by the Rotary Club of Avondale. Entry fee of $15 per vehicle, all proceeds to the Child Cancer Foundation. All car clubs and owners have the opportunity to display their vehicles on the grass fields of the showgrounds. Make this an auto extravaganza and a family day out. Variety of entertainment provided with food and refreshment stalls. March 13–15: NZ Leyland P76 Club’s Anything but Average National Rally and AGM. Based around the Classics Museum at 11 Railside Place, Hamilton, there’ll be many of the finest P76s in New Zealand, and maybe even our only Force 7V coupé in attendance. Cars should be available for public viewing at the Classics Museum from around 3:30pm on Saturday, March 14, or will be seen cruising about the locality as we check out the local attractions. March 22: 13th Annual North Canterbury Classic Tour. Tour starts at Hi-tech Building Systems (next to Stewarts Classic Car Collection), 656 Wairaki Rd, Russley, Christchurch at 9.30am. Register from 9am–10am, $15. All classic vehicles welcome — cars, vans, utes, trucks, campers, and motorcycles. Any age, body style, type, or condition, there were 187 classics last year. Tour is over scenic sealed roads to places of interest. Bring a picnic lunch. All entrants to receive Newzealandclassiccar magazine. April 3– 6: Austin-healey Car Club of New Zealand Monaco Rally, Nelson. The Austin-healey Car Club of NZ holds its biennial rally in Nelson over Easter weekend, and includes guests and their vehicles from Australia and the USA. Information on austinhealey.org.nz or find us on Facebook: austinhealeynz. April 3– 6: Classic Fighters 2015, Omaka Aerodrome. This year’s theme is ANZAC, and we require vehicles for display including those associated with Australia/ New Zealand, e.g. Ford, Holden, Chrysler, BMC, VW, Bolwell, Mclaren, Trekka. In return you get two passes for three days (we require the vehicle for at least two days). You must register with Patrick Pascoe at p.pascoe@ xtra.co.nz, as passes will be emailed out. Register early, accommodation is limited during the event.
April 10–13: Annual Association of Rover Car Clubs National Rally, Copthorne Solway Park, Masterton. Hosted by the Rover Car Club of Wellington, up to 100 Rover and Land Rover vehicles attend the national rally each year. There are a range of activities planned for 2015, including visiting a number of the Wairarapa’s best attractions. April 18–19: Autumn Colours Outing 2015, Otago. Its 13th year running, and as normal starting in Dunedin. Make a weekend of it in Otago. This trip will take in Northern Southland en route to Arrowtown. A very enjoyable and relaxing event, just ask anyone who has been before. A wonderful chance to get out and take in those beautiful Otago autumn colours. January 15–24, 2016: Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring. Scheduled to take place in Dunedin, this event will be the 10th International Rally held by the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand Inc. The festival has evolved over the years, and there are now significant numbers of vintage motorcycles involved as well as vintage, veteran and classic cars.
