1952 Buick Roadmaster

New Zealand Classic Car - - Nationwide News -

Back in February 1999, Nzclassic Car featured this very rare 1951 Buick Roadmaster Riviera Model 72R — the top of Buick’s four-door range at that time.

The new owner recently discovered this car, describing it as a ‘country find’ and, alas, in rather poor condition. The previous owner, the late Brian Whelan, parked the car up after an unfortunate fire ripped through the Buick causing major damage. Apparently Brian had pulled over onto the side of the road with a suspected flat tyre when heat from the car’s exhaust ignited the long, very dry grass engulfing the car in flames.

The new owner plans to completely restore this rare beauty back to original condition, and luckily has discovered a nice stash of original parts, enough to complete the restoration.
