Knowing that past history is important, he tracked down Andy Cameron, a wellknown panelbeater from Taumarunui, finding out that he’d been instrumental in restoring the Daimler. Though they never met face-to-face, Wayne found Andy great to talk to, and extremely obliging when it came to sending many photos of his work on the Daimler, this becoming part of Wayne’s journey and his love of cars and the enjoyment they bring.
He learned that the restoration on the Daimler began in 1999 after it had been discovered parked under a tree, caked in bird droppings. A complete rebuild commenced with the removal of the motor, plus the entire interior including side panels, seats, hood lining
