enjoyed the article in this month’s edition (Motor Man, NZ Classic Car, July 2015) featuring the Triumph 2000–2500 series cars.
Attached is a picture scanned from my photo album of a Triumph 2500 TC — one of two used here in Auckland in 1977, as ‘ inconspicuous’ patrol cars, by the Ministry of Transport.
The officer in the picture is me — when I was 38 years younger!
Those 2.5s had a lot of grunt for their time, and I recall that ours went through a few rear-suspension-link bushings due to being thrashed at times. The cars were fitted with twin flashing red lamps behind the front grille.
