NEW ZEALAND CLASSIC CAR BEHIND THE GARAGE DOOR Jupiter ascending
Once again we take a peek at a handful of your ongoing classic-car restoration projects B
rendon and Naomi Arnet are currently piecing together this beautiful Jowett Jupiter, their second such restoration. A growing family necessitated the sale of their earlier restored Jowett, but they are now back at it and hard at work on Jupiter number two. The car has been completely stripped, and the chassis and running gear are nearly complete, which means it will soon be back on its wheels and ready to enter the final stages of the restoration project. That said, the completion time frame is totally dependent on budget, and a final exterior colour has yet to be decided — always one of the hardest choices to make!
Only 899 Jowett Jupiters were built between 1950 and 1954, with around 25 known to exist in New Zealand. We’re looking forward to seeing one more on our roads, in lovingly restored condition.
