eam NZ Barrister is competing once again in Targa. The car, sponsored by Ebbett Audi, AON, Alexis IT and Staples Rodway, is ready to contest the 2015 event. The weapon of choice is a modified 1996 Honda Integra. The car is currently on its third engine, which is proving very reliable — at last — and the team behind it likewise remains as reliable as ever. David O’neill, the owner, performs driving duties, Blair Brookbanks is co-driver, and Hayden Robertson and Shane Hinga are the service crew although, given the Honda’s reliability, they haven’t had to do much to date. In addition to his sponsors, David also enjoys the support of his wife and family, because without them there would be no racing at all.

Matthew and Mitch are excited for their first main event, after partaking in the Targa Sprint and Bambina this year. They’re racing a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX that has been converted from an endurance-track race car. While still a work in progress, the Evo is now running MCA suspension, a wider track with a flared bodykit, and small performance improvements. Mitch has an extensive background in go-karting and circuit racing, while Matthew is fairly new to the sport. This has been their first attempt at any form of rally, but both are thoroughly enjoying Targa, and hope the six-day event will be another step forward for them.
