This 1971 model Citroën D Special is being fully restored to original condition. The hull is now finished, with attention next moving to the car’s exterior panels.

These D-models had a habit of rotting out in the boot area, and about 75 spot welds were drilled so that new panels could be welded into place to replace those considered too far gone to be repaired. The Citroën’s front end is now ready to accept the engine and gearbox. We look forward to following this project with interest.

This 1980 Mini 1275GT has undergone an extensive ground-up restoration and is almost ready for summer cruising.

The restoration has been carried out by the owner, and he tells us that this special car “has been built for the love of a good woman”.

He’s invested 10s of thousands of dollars to date, and it’s easy to see where the funds have gone when you consider the cost of upgrades such as a fully rebuilt 1330cc engine packed with performance goodies like high-compression balanced and lightened pistons, a fast road cam, and twin SU carburettors. The gearbox has also been fully rebuilt, and the driveline now includes an X-pin Differential upgrade. The suspension has received Hi-lo adjustable trumpets and Spax shock absorbers, while four-pot calipers clamping vented brake rotors take care of stopping.

Keep an eye out for a full feature on this car very soon.
