With the cancellation of Ford’s plans for an Xa-based GT-HO Phase IV, the replacement XA GT RPO 083 — such as this example here — is nowadays the next best thing to a genuine GT-HO Phase III. A 351ci (5.8-litre) Cleveland and four-speed Toploader leave no doubt as to its credentials as a true-blue muscle car of the ’70s, and its unbelievable preservation leaves little doubt as to its desirability today.
