Last month’s mys­tery was the Chrysler Royal, built in three se­ries from 1957 to 1964 by the Aus­tralian arm of Chrysler. Our pic­ture showed the AP3 fi­nal se­ries, built from 1960 to 1963/4, the let­ters ‘AP’ stand­ing for Aus­tralian Pro­duc­tion. In its last cou­ple of years, pro­duc­tion was small scale, as Chrysler needed fac­tory space to pro­duce the suc­cess­ful six-cylin­der Valiant S Se­ries. The Royal was never a big-sell­ing car, the AP1, AP2, and AP3 run­ning out at 4748, 4402, and 4444 units for the three se­ries,
