Roadmaster progress

New Zealand Classic Car - - Behind the Garage Door -

This 1957 Buick Roadmaster is undergoing a complete and total rebuild/restoration, predominantly led and undertaken by Tony Katterns and his crew at Custom Metalshapers, with huge input from other top professionals, including Stu’s Trim and Sound, Cascades Autofinish, and Jasco Automotive, to name but a few.

The owner, Shaun Eastell, imported the car from New Jersey back in 2004 after seeing it three years earlier on a visit with his family. Every nut and bolt has been removed, every seam has been unfolded, and nothing was left to chance with the dipping process. All the original parts have been reused, and NOS parts were used when available to get the car completely original — apart from factory colour, but that’s another story.

The Buick is getting close to final assembly, and we look forward to viewing it once it’s completed.
